MGM Cofounders

Maria Teresa Stone

Maria Teresa grew up dancing in Mexico and has been actively working in the fitness industry since 1996, teaching a range of land and water group fitness classes. She has experience managing gyms, having done that role in Mexico and the UK.

Maria Teresa was instrumental in successfully launching ZUMBA in 2009 in New Zealand and Australia. Over the past decade, she has trained thousands of instructors across the Australasia Pacific region. She has now evolved to teach virtual training since the start of the pandemic.

She was inducted to the Roll of honour by Fitness Australia in 2016 for her contribution to the fitness industry.

Maria Teresa is the co-founder of www.mygroupmove.com an online platform that trains new instructors and supports current group fitness instructors. She is a regular presenter at FILEX, FITEX and ZUMBA conventions.

Passionate about holistic health, she is a certified gut health and well-being coach and is the co-founder of the 18 Days to Well-being program along with her sister, Eliza Stone.

Marietta Mehanni

Monash's ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Industry’ 2019 award winner, Australian fitness presenter of 2018 and 2016 New Zealand Educator of the Year, Marietta Mehanni, is a well-known international presenter. Since the start of the Covid 19 crisis, Marietta has actively provided hundreds of free online live workouts designed for women who wanted to train with their bodies and brains without pelvic floor and joint strain. Pivoting to providing classes and education, Marietta launched her online membership and online live workshops.

She is also the international Master Trainer and Education Coordinator for Gymstick International. Marietta was inducted into the Roll of Honour with AusActive in 2023.

Co-founder of My Group Move, an online and face-to-face education, Marietta is passionate about educating group fitness instructors to reach their full potential to deliver exceptional group fitness classes. She is also the Co-Creator of mSwing, a fascia-based group fitness class designed to enhance and improve functional movement patterns. Always challenging the status quo and working outside the box, Marietta is an expert in developing fun exercise formats that are suitable for all ages and abilities.
