What is THE ART OF THE START?
 
This course aims to focus on the tools you need to create exciting warm ups and how to create rapport with your participants.
 
What do you expect to learn from THE ART OF THE START online course?
 
Warm ups are an essential part of any group exercise workout. They help prepare the body for the rigorous activity that follows and prevent injuries from occurring. In this course, we’ll cover how to warm up your muscles and give you important tips on how to use a warm up to engage with your participants. We’ll also go over why warming up is so important in group exercise and provide examples of different types of warm ups that can be used.
 
How long do I have access to the course materials?
 
You have lifetime access to any of the online courses. So you can go back and review the whole course anytime you want.
 
How long will it take me to complete ART OF THE START online course?
 
Everyone learns differently and it depends on how much time you have available to study and practice on a daily basis. Taking all of this into account, this course can be completed in a couple of hours. 
  
What can I teach after completing this online course?
 
You will be able to develop and feel confident about teaching warm ups in any class format. We recommend also completing Choreography and Flow and The Final Piece - Stretch and Release so that you are able to plan the rest of your class. 
 
What do I need to do after completing THE ART OF THE START?
 
Make sure you plan and practice your teaching and delivery skills on your own and with other people. Watching the videos will not teach you the skills until you physically practice teaching a warm up. If teaching a group fitness class is a goal, then being able to do this in front of others is essential to be able to concentrate on several skills at the same time without being distracted.
  
Is there an assessment as part of THE ART OF THE START online course?
 
There is an assessment at the end of the course compromising of 13 multiple choice and true/false questions. You will need to achieve 90% to pass the assessment in order to attain your certificate of completion. You can take the test as often as you need to be able to complete the course. 
 
Will I receive a certificate of completion at the end?
 
Yes, after completing the assessment at the end of the course, you will receive an automatic email from us with your digital certificate of completion via email. Make sure you type your name as you would like it in your certificate of completion.
 
Are there continuing education credits
Yes - at the completion of this online course, you will receive the following credits:
Fitness Australia - 1 CEC's
REPS New Zealand - 1 CPD's
Fitrec Points - 30
 
Are there other courses I can do with My Group Move?
 
Our recommendation is to continue on and complete the Communication and Connection online course. This course will teach you how to engage with your participants and expertly communicate your choreography, moves and routines during the workout. The Move to the Beat online course will teach you how to listen and use music effectively.  The Final Piece - Stretch and Release are also great courses to do so that you know how to finish the workout with a grand finale.
